Loudspeaker Inspection at PA Rental Companies

Can you avoid broken loudspeakers being passed on to the next client, given such limited turn-around times? Can you quickly and reliably identify a fault and record this against the returning client? The RT-Speaker software (Standard Edition), together with the FX100 Audio Analyzer is the perfect combination for PA loudspeaker incoming inspection. The system offers both acoustic and electrical tests that can be set up and executed within a few seconds. Typical measurements are frequency response, loudspeaker sensitivity and PureSound™ Rub&Buzz detection on the acoustic side, as well as impedance response, resonance frequencies and T/S parameters for passive loudspeakers.

Fast - Reliable - Traceable
Simply identify the inbound loudspeaker with a barcode reader. The device type, the serial number, all measurement parameters and the workflow of the test are loaded automatically. Then position the loudspeaker in front of the measuring microphone and connect it to the test system. The verification procedure typically takes 1 to 4 seconds, depending on the size and number of built-in drivers. The system then compares the measurement results against stored reference data, which was previously acquired from a known-good loudspeaker of the same type, and immediately shows the PASSED / FAILED result to the operator. In case of a failure, a measurement report is produced for the repair department.

Noise Cancellation
To compensate for the noisy environment, an elaborate cancellation algorithm filters out external sounds that are not coming from the loudspeaker under test, and the system thus reliably identifies even defects that are almost inaudible. Test parameters can be centrally hosted at the company head office, and automatically distributed to branches at various locations.
