In room acoustics, they are used to evaluate the acoustic quality of a room based on its frequency spectrum. Noise curves are mainly applied in the planning of ventilation and air-conditioning systems as well as in the evaluation of offices, meeting rooms, and studios. The measured value is determined by comparing measured octave-band levels with the defined curves. Low values indicate a quiet and acoustically-comfortable environment. The XL3 highlights problem frequencies, identifies the relevant limiting curve, and provides immediate results. The relevant curve is highlighted in red. This immediate visual feedback allows consultants to rapidly identify if a room meets the acoustic standards, while they are in the room.
