Open air music events are especially popular in summer. A good sound should be balanced but not too loud, to avoid possible hearing damage in the audience and not disturb the neighbors. The XL2 Sound Level Meter offers the professional measuring solution for live sound events. With the recently-introduced enhancements to the Projector PRO software and the NoiseScout platform, the live sound levels can be seen easily at the Front of House and by the concert organizer, the audience and neighbors alike.

The XL2 Sound Level Meter is ideal for monitoring sound levels at events according to standards. Before the event, the position in the audience area that will receive the highest sound levels can be quickly found, and the level difference to the measuring position determined. This means that the FOH technician can have the maximum sound pressure level in the entire public area under control at all times.

With the Projector PRO option installed on the XL2, it is possible to present the levels in large font on a connected PC or MAC tablet or computer. The Projector PRO software compares the sound levels to the set thresholds and displays them in green, orange, or in a striking red. The new version V1.50 of the Projector PRO software also gives MAC users the possibility to use the entire range of functions and, for example, all preferences can be conveniently selected as a profile on the computer. All required level values are available for selection; among others, the levels LCFmax and LCSmax can be used to monitor the maximum low-frequency bass component.

Monitor the Sound Level at the Neighbor in a Web Browser
As an alternative to the Projector PRO software, the same large-font view of the current sound levels is available in a web browser. The XL2 Sound Level Meter gets a 3G or LAN connection through the NetBox accessory. It is thus possible to simultaneously monitor a virtually unlimited number of monitoring stations around the festival area and in the neighborhood. All sound levels are available at a glance on a mobile phone or in the event office. Orange warnings alert about a possible upcoming exceedance of limits, so that one can react in time. "Everything in the green zone" ensures a satisfied audience and neighbors.

XL2 Projector PRO Option for event monitoring
The Projector PRO software is a free download for all registered customers. The current version V1.50 can be installed on any number of PCs and Macs. A Projector PRO Option installed on the XL2 Sound Level Meter extends the software with the XL View and Sound Level Predictor displays for event monitoring.

NoiseScout connects the XL2 Sound Level Meter to the internet. The automatic connection to the sound level meter and the presentation of live readings on a web page is offered through a calendar-based service model. Alternatively, the annual subscription "NoiseScout 365" is available.
