The following topics are planned; plus we will focus on specific applications of the participants: Basics of Acoustics Basic concepts: air pressure vs. sound pressure, wavelength, frequency Level calculation Time signal vs. spectrum “TA Lärm” and related regulations Basic idea behind “TA Lärm” Carrying out the measurement Determination of the level rating Lr using a calculator and PC software Event monitoring according to DIN 15905-5 Occupational safety measurements Speech Intelligibility measurement (STIPA) according to DIN VDE 0833-4 Basic idea behind the analysis of speech intelligibility measurement Room acoustics according to DIN 18041 and ISO 3382-3 Reverberation time measurements Background noise and level decrease over distance, speech intelligibility Evaluating results and creating measurement reports Building acoustics according to DIN 4109 and ISO 16283 Measurement preparation Carrying out the measurement Evaluating results and creating measurement reports The measurements and analysis are carried out using the XL2 Sound Level Meter and evaluation software from NTi Audio. If you already have your own XL2, you are welcome to bring it along to actively participate in the measurements. Date: Thursday, 12th March 2020.
