Sound Level Meter – The Flexible Solution
Flexible sound level measurement for field and lab use.
Made in Switzerland Precision Engineering

The hand-held XL2 Analyzer is a powerful Sound Level Meter, a professional Acoustic Analyzer, a precision Audio Analyzer and a comprehensive Vibration Meter in one instrument. Easy operation and countless applications distinguish this quality Swiss product.
The XL2 Sound Level Meter is available in stock, allowing for expedited delivery.
Numerous measurement variations are simultaneously available. Actual level (live), Lmin, Lmax, Leq and Lpeak may be measured in combination with frequency weighting A, C or Z and time weightings fast, slow and impulse. All results are simultaneously available and may be stored automatically for later documentation.
Customers may log all acquired level information onto a removable SD card. Additionally the XL2 offers wav-file recording for a complete documentation of the measured sound pressure levels. Voice notes may also be added to each measurement.
Remote measurement acquisition (optional)

The RTA perfectly suits tasks such as optimization of sound systems and rooms. The XL2 measures and logs wideband values and the real time spectrum in 1/1 or 1/3 octave-band resolution according to IEC 61260 class 0. The sound level meter results of the wideband and RTA spectrum are simultaneously available.

The XL2 Acoustic Analyzer offers numerous measurement functions relevant to your application in one instrument. Thanks to the intuitive operation, you can quickly and easily switch between the different measuring functions.

The XL2 stores all data onto the SD card for direct transfer to the computer. Data reports and log files are stored in plain text format, which can be opened with any text editor (Notepad, Wordpad, etc). The data is tab-delimited, so dropping the .txt file into a spreadsheet application will conveniently show the results in columns. The sound level meter may additionaly record the audio data as a WAV-file.
A series of free MS Excel application templates provide a convenient way to view the measurement results of specific tasks and create simple reports.

Use the XL2 with a suitable measurement microphone and perform a quick acoustic calibration with a sound calibrator (typically 94 dB at 1 kHz) before and after the measurement session. This creates traceable results and helps catch setup or microphone issues early.
Yes. With the STIPA Option installed, the XL2 measures speech intelligibility according to IEC 60268-16:2020 (and also supports older editions), including features like ambient noise correction and automated averaging.
You can transfer XL2 measurement data to a PC and generate professional reports with NTi Data Explorer, which is designed for fast analysis of sound level data and quick creation of customized reports. It automatically includes relevant header information such as measurement date and calibration details for clean documentation.
For building acoustics workflows, you can also export and document key results for SIR (Sound Insulation Reporter) and RAR (Room Acoustics Reporter) applications – making it easy to turn XL2 measurements into standardized, client-ready deliverables.
