The MR-PRO is the professional analog audio generator providing a wide range of test signals, like sine, pink noise, white noise and many more. Proprietary user wave forms may be loaded via USB into the internal flash memory. Innovative technologies include continuous monitoring of the signal balance, the phantom power and the impedance of the connected load. The integrated XLR cable tester simplifies trouble shooting tasks.

Cable Test The built-in cable tester measures any cable connected between the XLR output and the built-in XLR input. It detects all common XLR wiring faults with a precise description to the user, such as “2-3 Crossed” or “Pin 2 open”. Additionally an optional Cable Test Plug may be used for single ended installations.

Impedance and Power Test The impedance test supports the verifications of distributed 70/100V loudspeaker installations and shows detailed information of the connected load. Impedance and Phase Apparent Power and Phase

Store Preset Configurations Up to 10 complete instrument configurations can be stored in the internal flash memory and reloaded for repetitive tasks. The saved settings may also be transferred to other MR-PRO instruments.

Compensated Output Stage The output level corresponds over a wide range of loads to the set output voltage based upon the output impedance of the generator.  Possible maximum limits when reaching the output current limit are clearly indicated.

 

MR-PRO Wave Forms

Sine Output MR-PRO generates extremely pure sinusoidal waveforms with freely selectable frequencies from 10 Hz to 20 kHz level range from -80 to +18 dBu

 

Sweep The start frequency, stop frequency and a step resolution as fine as 1/12th of an octave can be adjusted. Audio analyzers automatically trigger to this signal and record the frequency response of a device under test.

Chirp The chirp signal is a sine-wave with defined start- & stop frequency and continuous frequency increase over time. It is used in the recording of frequency responses, the measurement of impulse responses and the acoustic assessment of rooms.

Delay Test Signal This is the designated reference signal to measure the acoustic propagation delay time from speaker to speaker in e.g. churches or auditoriums. It suits the accurate setup of delay line arrangements, thus the directionality of the signal source will be optimized. Testing is carried out in combination with the XL2 Audio and Acoustic Analyzer or Acoustilyzer AL1.

Pink & White Noise Pink or white noise is synthesized with high spectral density, normal amplitude distribution and with infinite cycle duration. Furthermore the instrument generates gated pink noise (on/off cycle 1 - 9 seconds) for convenient RT60 measurements with the XL2 Audio and Acoustic Analyzer or Acoustilyzer AL1 is included.

Polarity The polarity test signal allows measuring the polarity of audio- and acoustic signals. The saw-tooth waveform is an ideal stimulus with only moderate stress to speakers. Testing is carried out in combination with either the XL2 Audio and Acoustic Analyzer, Acoustilyzer AL1 or Minilyzer ML1.

Wav-File A number of user test signals may be stored as uncompressed wav-files in the MR-PRO memory. The selected file is seamlessly looped. Data exchange is simplified via the USB port.
