Induction Loops
|

|
Induction loop systems are widely installed in churches, theatres and cinemas, for the benefit of hearing-impaired people. The use of induction loop systems has been even extended too many further applications, such as ticket offices, bank counters, drive-through services or elevators.

The Minilyzer together with the optional MiniLINK USB interface measures induction loops AFILS according standard IEC60118. A complete measurement menu following the standard can be enabled including calibration to customer field sensors.

The calibrated receiver for inductive loop systems can be connected by an audio cable to the Minilyzer.
The international standard IEC 60118 section 4 (also known as SN, EN or BS 60118-4) specifies the following requirements (all referred
to 400 mA/m or 0 dBL (=dB Loop):
- Average Field Strength -12 dBL +/- 3 dB (= 100 mA/m)
- Maximum Field Strength 0 dBL (= 400 mA/m)
- Frequency Response 100 – 5,000 Hz +/- 3 dB
- Background Noise Level -32 dBL, “A” weighted
